How much venting for a rubber roof?

I live in New England and just bought a Cape style house, steep roof in the front, almost flat in back.

I am putting a rubber roof on the back section and do not know how much ventilation is enough.
I currently have a ridge vent at the peak, but with a rubber roof do I need to install a soffit vent or gable vent or whirly bird or is just a ridge vent enough?**

You should install the soffit vent to help ventilate that section of roof and attic.
