I’m looking for advice for sizing the fasteners for 2x decking over a 4 ft span for a cabin roof. I’d like to buy a nailer to complete the project. Can anyone tell me what the requirements are in decimal? Thanks in advance.
12d, 3.25" nails should be fine. Ring shanks would be best to prevent movement from cupping.
Thank you for the response. I see 12d in decimal equivalent is .148. Do they make ring shank nails that can be loaded in a nailer?
Yea they do, the .148 is the thickness not the length. Most framing nails for Nail guns are .120-.131 and varying lengths.
