Roof

#1

what is the difference between a** New roof **and a reroof.

Wants to know.

#2

Simple, a new roof is new from roof deck up, while a reroof has a new roof system installed overtop of the existing roof system. FWIW, I do not recommend reroofs.

#3

IS THE DECK SUPPOSE TO BE REPLACED IN A NEW ROOF???

#4

Only new construction is considered new roofing.

Tear off and re-roof or an overlay.

I do not recommend shingle re-roofs, either.

#5

I only consider new construction ss consider new roofing.

Tear off and re-roof or an overlay are considered re-roofing.

I do not recommend shingle re-roofs, either.

#6

different people in different parts of the country have different terms for things. a tear off (what you are calling a new roof) does not usually include plywood unless agreed upon in a contract.

#7

reroof your roof,
redo your roof,
put a new roof on,
you could say i got a new roof , or i just reroofed my house.
its just different ways of disribing a roof removal and/or replcaement job.
to me, how you name the roofing job doesnt depict what gets done.

gweedo.
