Question about roof deck

#1

Can I caulk all the seams between the plywood panels to further ensure leakproofing (also would this not allow my roof to pass a few days of unexpected light rain while I take my sweet time getting the new shingles on)? I’m concerned that the gaps between the panels somehow allow some form of breathing that if removed will cause subsequent failure.

Thanks.

Dont do it. Dry the roof in the same day you tear it off.

yeah, caulkin the cracks isnt goin to help anything if it starts rainin.
just get it felted in and then take your time shinglin it.

That would be a huge mistake. Dry in the roof, tarp it over night and take your time shingling it.

Hi,

The gaps are for expansion and contraction. If you fill-in the gaps the plywood may buckle.
