Is this a fair price to replace dry rot?

#1

I am replacing my roof. In the contract, the cost of replacing dry rot is extra. I want to know if the prices below are reasonable. I live in Southern California.
1/2" plywood:$68 p/sheet
1"x6": $3.80 p/lft.
2"x6": $8.30 p/lft.

The roof is not steep at all.

#3

Yes, that is fair.

#4

The 1x6 seems a little low. Otherwise, right in line.

#5

Hi,

The prices are lower then mine.

Did you have any other prices? What are they.

#6

ditto everyone.

gweedo.

Home Depot sells a 1/2" sheet of plywood for $11.50. Paying $56.50 a sheet for labor sounds a bit much.

Do roofers give quotes for labor (actual time) and materials?
How many man hours might it take to replace 10 sheets?

Hi,

So how long does it take you to go and pick up the lumber.

How long does it take you to get the old sheet removed.

How long does it take you to get the old sheet down to the dump truck.

How long does it take you to get the old sheet to the landfill.

How long does it take you to cut the sheet.

How long does it take you to get it on the roof.

How long does it take you to lay the sheet in place.

How long does it take you to nail the sheet in place.

How long does it take you write down how many sheets you used.

How long does it take you write out the bill…

Counting other peoples money will drive you crazy.

I think everything has been said with leftys post.

…and what a disruption of the project progression…every task beyond the plywood is now interrrupted and costs a whole bunch more to accomplish.

I do not make money at 60 dollars a sheet.

lefty , breakin it off proper.
and plywood in tampa bay is about 20 dollars a sheet.

for me though i try to include wood in my price.
if theres alot of wood, price is higher.
just a peace or two , price is lower.
this way i dont have people, like dude here, tryin to figure it all out.
if theres termite rott, or some unforseen rott, then i show it and charge it.
but again i dont like to break everything down cause that gives somebody somethin to look at and question.

the more ya get yourself into, the more you have to get yourself out of.

gweedo.
