Anyone here ever done any government contract jobs?

I am preparing to bid a big building over in Pennsylvania.

I know they are prevailing wage, but do you have to be Union?

Mmmkay…

No. You do not have to be union.

Beware government jobs. You will have to adhere to every single OSHA rule there is, so factor in the time and material costs for that. Also read the fine print because if you go over the contracted time for the job to be completed you can be fined on a daily basis.
A company I used to work for here in NY did a 350 square slate job at a military academy and went over on time and was getting fined something like 500.00 for every day they went over. Stuff like that can really eat up your profit margin quick on a job that was the lowest bid to start with.
Stay away from government work unless you are very good at estimating and are willing to work out the job down to the smallest details.

Good Luck.

Thank you for the input.

Its about 300 squares 12/12 pitch. My crew and I have all went through safety training, so that isnt an issue.
